Beans are ubiquitous around the globe and have been cultivated for thousands of years. They come in different shapes, sizes, and colors. A variety of beans, including the black, pinto, kidney, navy, and yellow eye beans were originally cultivated in the Americas, but soy, garbanzos, lentils and fava beans were cultivated elsewhere.
Beans are delicious and nutritious, bring people together, are affordable, and make for an ideal alternative to meat. When times get tough, their ability to be stored for several years provides communities with a reliable food source, and can produce more food as each bean is also a seed!
We believe that everyone should eat more beans 🌱
